Skyhook 2-Axis Positioner

The Skyhook 2-Axis Positioner Cell is designed to improve weld quality and throughput by combining robotic welding with heavy-duty part positioning. While the robot handles the weld, the positioner orients the part for optimal access and consistency.

At the core is the FANUC ARC Mate 120iD/12L, a 6-axis robot built for arc welding, with a 12 kg payload and extended 2,272 mm reach. Paired with Kinetic’s Skyhook 2-axis positioner, the system handles large, complex parts up to 1,000 kg, with a 72” swing diameter and up to 45” part height.

An intuitive touchscreen HMI simplifies operation and reduces training time. Built-in arc-flash protection and light curtains improve operator safety. With an industrial PC and Allen-Bradley controls, the system integrates reliably into existing production environments.
